New York Dog Nanny was started in 2010 in Astoria as a dog walking and pet sitting business. It quickly evolved into a full-fledged dog daycare and grooming storefront in Manhattan for 9 years as a dog daycare in the Flatiron area of NYC. In 2020, the business closed brick n’ mortar operations, pivoted to holistic dog training and remote subscription based reiki services.

The founder and head trainer at New York Dog Nanny, Cynthia Okimoto, is devoted to the sacred person-dog bond and created several services since 2010 to enhance this bond which is now provided through holistic dog training. She is the proud dog mom of Coco (11) and Max (10) as well as the curator of a Dog Blog which covers topics from CBD oils to how to choose the right dog for your family. She is also a Reiki Master (15 years) and Professional Animal Communicator (11 years). She’s a recent graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program (2019), a member of the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, a Volunteer Committee Member at NAPPS (Nat. Association of Professional Pet Sitters) and a 11 year Remote Animal Healer for the Distance Healing Network. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her dogs upstate and in New Jersey, reading and going to dinner with friends.
